| After a successful medical test, Cédric Kanté signed a two year deal at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard.
The defender started his professional career in Ligue 1 against Auxerre in 2000, February 16th. But he played more in Ligue 2, thanks to his two loans at FC Istres and ASOA Valence. In 2003, Kanté returns to RC Strasbourg. He played three seasons in Ligue 1, became captain and won the French Cup in 2005. In 2006, decided to go to OGC Nice. In Nice, Cédric Kanté played three seasons as central defender holder. In summer 2009, he signed at Panathinaïkos. In three years in Greece, the left-handed won a Championship and a Cup in 2010. He also played 14 European Cup's game, 5 of which in Champion's League. Alsatian thanks to his mother and Malian thanks to his father, Cédric Kanté has 33 selections in Malian national team. He was captain when those one went to semi-finals in African Cup in 2012. |
